Taragaon Museum

Taragaon museum is located inside the premises of Hyatt Regency, Kathmandu. The building of the museum is built in the 1970s by Carl Pruscha. The museum is supported by The Saraf Foundation for Himalayan Tradition and culture and the museum is a unique contribution to the architectural history of Nepal. The building of the taragaon museum is made with the seven unique arches vaulted brick and the buildings are separated by brick-paved quadrangles. Inside the museum, we can find a collection of different photos, archeological plans, and the maps that were drawn to visit Kathmandu by the first foreign advisor. We can also see some cultural events, contemporary art, and the top-end galleries in the museum. This museum also includes the thousand of photos of Kathmandu from the 19th century. We can also see many sketches displayed in the museum which were done by the Nepali and the International artists during the exhibition.  The museum mainly focused on conserving and documenting the research that is taken by the architectures, photographers, scholars, and many other visitors.
