The Ruby Valley trek is a lesser-known trail that takes place in a new trekking route between the Manaslu Conservation Area and Langtang National Park, amidst the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges. This trek offers striking panoramic views of the Himalayas, including the Ganesh Range, Lamjung Himal (6,800m), Langtang Lirung (7,300m), Manaslu (8,163m), and many other peaks. Along with the majestic views, the trek also takes you past two stunning waterfalls, Ganga and Jamuna, and through exotic flora and fauna. The valley is also known for its minerals such as ruby, crystal, and zinc.
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,503m)
Day 2: Trek from Syabrubesi to Tamang village of Gatlang (2,337m) via Chawatar. The trail takes you through lush green forests, raging rivers, and thrilling suspension bridges.
Day 3: Trek from Gatlang to Parvati Kunda, a beautiful, sacred lake. Continue to Somdang (3,271m), known for zinc, copper, crystal, and ruby mines.
Day 4: Cross the Pangsang Pass (3,842m) to reach Tipling (2,087m). Along the way, you can see panoramic views of the Himalayas, diverse farmlands, green meadows, and rocky hills.
Day 5: Trek from Tipling to Chalish Village, inhabited mainly by Gurungs and Tamangs. Visit the village and interact with the locals. Spend the night in a homestay in Chalish Village.
Day 6: Trek to Dhading Besi, via Borang Village. Take a local jeep to Dhading Besi. Spend the night in Dhading Besi.
Day 7: Return to Kathmandu by bus.
