Patan Museum is located inside the Patan Durbar Square in the northernmost building. The patan museum was made by the late King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah in 1977 which includes the mystical art of Nepal in an architectural way. Patan Museum is known as Nepal’s first public museum which was created as an independent institution and it is said that the building of the Patan durbar square used to be the court of royal palaces of the Kathmandu valley. Inside the museum, we can find the museum gift shop that sells unique valley handicrafts and gallery reproductions. The gallery present inside the museum displays a long period of Nepal’s cultural history and the collections also include some of the rare artifacts. The area inside the Patan museum also includes a nice resting place for the tourist and the Patan Museum cafe which is handled by the Summit Hotel. Patan Museum opens from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM on all days. The opening hours of the gallery in the Patan museum are from 08:00 AM to 06:30 PM (Kesav Narayan Chowk), 10:00 AM to 05:30 PM (Mul Chowk), 7 Am to 6.30 PM ( Keshav Narayan Chowk, Mul Chowk, Sundari Chowk).
