Nampa South Peak Climbing

Nampa South (NAMS) is a climbing peak in the Gurans mountain range of Api Himal/ Byas municipality of Darchula district in Nepal. The mountain peak has an elevation of 6850m and can be located at latitude 29.9858 longitude 80.9967. The summit of Nampa South Peak offers stunning views of mount Guras 6744m, Nampa 6729m, Nampa II 6585m, Nampa III 6611m, Saipal 7030m, and more.

The Region

The region habitats vegetation of Pine and Hemlock forests, White Fir, Juniper, Birch and Rhododendron, scrub and alpine plant communities are common at the higher altitude.

The park is home to the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Marten, Himalayan Mouse Hare (Pika), and over 118 species of bird including the Impeyan Pheasant, Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red-billed Cough.

The trail passes from Darchula Khalanga, Lahuti, Dumling, Chhyangru, Tallo Nampa, and to the base camp of Nampa South Peak, this route is 76.9 Km and the climbing route is 11.2 Km.
