Muktinath Temple

Muktinath Temple, situated at an altitude of 3,710 meters is a Vishnu Temple, located at the foot of Thorangla Pass ( World’s highest trekking pass) in Mustang, Nepal. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu (lord of salvation) and worshipped as Muktinath. Both Hindu, as well as Buddhist devotees, visit this temple to worship and take blessings from Lord Buddha. The pagoda style Muktinath temple is considered as one of the 108 Vaishnava Shrines. A human-sized statue of Vishnu is situated inside the temple. Bronze images of Goddesses are also present inside the temple. A Mukti-Kunda is situated just beside the temple, which is considered holy water according to Hindu and Buddhist religion. A Mukti-Dhara is also situated at the back of the temple which consists of 108 Dhara(Taps) where holy water flows continuously. Taking bath here is believed to rinse away your sin.
