Lumbini Tour

Lumbini is located about 350 km southwest of Kathmandu. Back then, it was a beautiful garden during the rule of the Shakya dynasty in southwest Nepal. This place is famous for the birth of Lord Buddha here in 560 B.C. The birth of the Gautam Buddha at Lumbini has been recorded in the pillar which is still in the pillar (Bhagawan Jateti Lummini game). The pilgrimage of Ashoka to Lumbini has also been recorded in a 300-325 BC pillar of stone. The monuments discovered from these excavations are the temple of Mayadevi (Buddha’s mother), the pillar of Ashoka with its 9 m sandstone shaft formed by five pillars, the bell capital, and many religious and historical items. There are 62 archeological sites in the area of Lumbini which mark various events in the life of Buddha. There are a few important places that visitors needs to visit while traveling to Lumbini, they are Mayadevi Temple, Puskar Pond, and Lumbini Garden. The temple of Mayadevi, the mother of Buddha is located near the Ashoka pillar. The statue of Mayadevi is made out of the stone that is believed to be 2000 years old. People worship both Mayadevi and Rupadevi. To the south of the temple of Mayadevi lies the Puskar pond where Mayadevi bathed before giving birth to Buddha and took his purifying bath in the same pond. The entire Lumbini area is considered as a garden (Lumbini garden). Many monasteries were built by various countries such as Thailand, Srilanka, and Japan.
