Khangchung /UIAA Peak Climbing

Khangchung /UIAA Peak (KGCH) is a climbing peak in the Mahalangur mountain range of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu municipality of Solukhumbu district in Nepal. The mountain peak has an elevation of 6063m and can be located at latitude 27.9836 longitude 86.7398. The summit of Khangchung /UIAA Peak offers stunning views of Khangri West, Khangri Shar, Kyashar and more.

The Region

The region habitats vegetation of Pine and Hemlock forests, White Fir, Juniper, Birch and Rhododendron, scrub and alpine plant communities are common at the higher altitude.

The park is home to the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Marten, Himalayan Mouse Hare (Pika), and over 118 species of bird including the Impeyan Pheasant, Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red-billed Cough.

Trails

There is a trail you can follow to summit Khangchung /UIAA Peak. The trail passes from Lukla, Jorsalle, Namche, Khumjung, Machherma, Nha, and to the base camp of Khangchung /UIAA Peak, this route is 34.4Km and the climbing route is 9.5Km.
