Jal Binayak Temple, one of the most important shrines of Lord Ganesh located at Chobar in the Kathmandu valley was build in 1602 by the Malla King Shiva Singh Malla. The temple is one of the four Binayak (Jal Binayak, Ashok Binayak, Rakta Binayak, and Surya Binayak) of the Kathmandu valley. The structure of the temple is designed as a Three-tiered roof in Pagoda Style with carvings of eight Bhairab and eight Ashta Matrikas inside the premises of the temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesh (God of wisdom, success, and good luck), who is always invoked first in any Hindu puja or festival. It is believed that a rat is the vehicle of Lord Ganesh so, you can find a rat in the courtyard of the temple facing the shrine of Ganesh. Thousands of devotees visit this temple to take blessings and remove their obstacles of life with the blessing of Lord Ganesh. After the devasting earthquake in 2015, the temple was quite damaged so, the management of the temple is in the process of repairing and rebuilding the temple. We would recommend you to visit this beautiful, spiritual and religious temple of Ganesh if you are near the Kathmandu valley.
Congratulation!
