Hongu Chuli (HNGU) is a climbing peak in the Mahalangur/Makalu mountain range of Makalu/Mahakulung municipality of Solukhumbu/Sankhuwasabha district in Nepal. The mountain peak has an elevation of 6764m and can be located at latitude 27.8256 longitude 86.9794. The summit of Hongu Chuli Peak offers stunning views of mount Jobo Rinjang 6781m, Khangchung 6063m, Khangri West 6621m, Khumbu Tse 6639m, Kyazo Ri 6151m, and more.
The region habitats vegetation of Pine and Hemlock forests, White Fir, Juniper, Birch and Rhododendron, scrub and alpine plant communities are common at the higher altitude.
The park is home to the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Marten, Himalayan Mouse Hare (Pika), and over 118 species of bird including the Impeyan Pheasant, Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red-billed Cough.
Hongu Chuli Peak climbing expedition is 21 days challenging adventure trip. The expedition starts from Kathmandu where you will make essential backpacking and preparation. Your guide will brief you with the necessary trip details.
There are two trails you can follow to summit Hongu Chuli Peak. The first trail passes from Lukla, Osila Kharka, Thangnak, Mera La, Panchpokhari, and to the base camp of Hongu Chuli Peak, this route is 54 Km and the climbing route is 5.3 Km.
The second trail passes from Lukla, Jorsalle, Namche, Dingboche, Dhusum, Amphulapcha La to the base camp of Hongu Chuli Peak, this route is 55.7 Km and the climbing route is 5.1 Km.
