Hongde (HONG) is a climbing peak in the Damodar mountain range of Chharka Tongsong/ Barhagau Muktiksetra municipality of Dolpa and Mustang district in Nepal. The mountain peak has an elevation of 6556m and can be located at latitude 28.843 longitude 83.4992. The summit of Hongde Peak offers stunning views of mount Ghyun Himal I 6099m, Chulu East 6584m, Cheo Himal 6650m, Bhrikuti 6476m, Jijang 6111m, and more.
The region habitats vegetation of Pine and Hemlock forests, White Fir, Juniper, Birch and Rhododendron, scrub and alpine plant communities are common at the higher altitude.
The park is home to the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Marten, Himalayan Mouse Hare (Pika), and over 118 species of bird including the Impeyan Pheasant, Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red-billed Cough.
Hongde Peak climbing expedition is 18 days challenging adventure trip. The expedition starts from Kathmandu where you will make essential backpacking and preparation. Your guide will brief you with the necessary trip details.
There are two trails you can follow to summit Hongde Peak. The first trail passes from Jomsom, Syang, Marpha, Thapa Bhanjyang, and to the base camp of Hongde Peak, this route is 24.9 Km and the climbing route is 8.4 Km.
The second trail passes from Beni, Galeshwar, Baishari, Tatopani, Lete, Larjung, Marpha, Thapa Bhanjyang to the base camp of Hongde Peak, this route is 78.2 Km and the climbing route is 8.4 Km.
