Ghanyala Hies Peak Climbing

Ghanyala Hies Peak (GHAN) is a climbing peak in the Janak mountain range of Gosai Kunda/ Phaktanglung municipality of Taplejung district in Nepal. The mountain peak has an elevation of 6779m and can be located at latitude 27.8956 longitude 88.0828. The summit of Ghanyala Hies Peak offers stunning views of mount Kanchenjunga 7134m, mount Kumbakarna , mount Jhonsong, Gimmigela 7350m , Janak himal and more.

The Region

The region habitats vegetation of Pine and Hemlock forests, White Fir, Juniper, Birch and Rhododendron, scrub and alpine plant communities are common at the higher altitude. The park is home to the Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr, Marten, Himalayan Mouse Hare (Pika), and over 118 species of bird including the Impeyan Pheasant, Snow Cock, Blood Pheasant, and Red-billed Cough.

There is one trail you can follow to summit Ghanyala Hies Peak. The trail passes from Taplejung, Siwa, Tapethok, Ghunsa, Khangpachen, Lonak, and to the base camp of Ghanyala Hies Peak, this route is 72.4Km and the climbing route is 14.3Km.
