Dattatreya Temple was built during the reign of Late King Yaksha Malla in 1458, the temple is situated in Bhaktapur of Kathmandu valley. The structure of the temple represents a pagoda-style with three tiers, it is believed that the temple was built using the timber from a single tree. The temple is dedicated to the combination of most important Gods in Hindu religion, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. One can find a lot of wooden carvings and stone images inside the premises of the temple. The main entrance of the temple is guarded by two Malla wrestlers facing towards the Nyatapola Temple. The temple has great importance in religious views and cultural heritage. During the earthquake of 1934 and 2015, dozens of temples were destroyed including ancient monuments and building but this temple survived and stood still. Hindu devotees from all around the world visit this beautiful temple to worship the trinity of Gods (Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu).
