Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Drive to Sundarijal and Trek to Chisapani
Meet the group in central Kathmandu for the private transfer to Sundarijal. Embark on the 4.5-hour trek to Chisapani (7,545 ft/2,300 m) and enjoy views of the surrounding jagged peaks from Shivapuri National Park. Along the way, pass through the village of Mulkharka, home to the Tamang people. Overnight in lodge.
Day 2: Trek to Nagarkot
Trek 2.5 hours to Chauki Bhanjyang where the group will pause for lunch with the snow-capped mountains as the backdrop. In the afternoon, descend 3 hours to Nagarkot, where on a clear day you can see the Himalayas stretching from Dhaulagiri in the West all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the East. Overnight in hotel.
Day 3: Trek to Changunarayan and Drive to Kathmandu
Trek 3.5 hours to Changunarayan. The most popular walk around Kathmandu, this route leads down from Nagarkot along a ridge to Changu Narayan Temple. Built in 323 AD by King Hari Datta Varma, Changu Narayan is richly decorate with sculptures and carvings and is said to be the oldest temple in the valley. From the temple, take in views of the village of Sankhu and the Bhaktapur area. In the afternoon, the group travels by private transfer to the hotel in Kathmandu.
