Bird watching in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park is a delightful day trip near Kathmandu valley. The park can be identified by the green hills on the north of Kathmandu valley. The park is named after the Shivapuri Peak 2,732m. It spans in an area of 159 km2 with tropical and subtropical forests, streams, wildlife and habitat of 318 bird species.Birds seen in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park are 8 species of Stork, Egret, Woodpecker, and Black-headed shrike, 6 species of Pheasant, 17 species of Cuckoo, 3 species of Crow, Spiny babbler, Wren babbler, Bulbul, Warblers, Swift, Bush chat, Kalij, Leaf birds, Magpies, Steppe eagle, Sparrow hawk, Goshawk and Fly catcher birds.

12:00 pm – 12:30 pm: Drive to Manichud Danda
12:30 pm – 2:30 pm: Bird watching in Manichud Danda
2:30 pm – 2:45 pm: Drive to Chisapani watershed
2:45 pm – 4:45 pm: Bird watching around the watershed, deep jungle walk
4:45 pm – 5:00 pm: Drive to Chisapani, stunning view of Langtang mountain range
6:00 pm: Drive back from Shivapuri vial Gagal village.
