Bird Watching at Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is a magnet for avid bird watchers who are able to observe various resident and migrant bird species here. Bird watching is also one of Sauraha’s main attractions. Many tourists come to Chitwan and walk around Sauraha and Chitwan National Park with the sole purpose of watching birds. One of the best places in the world to observe and study different rare bird species is the Chitwan National Park area. With the exception of resident species, migrating birds can arrive in winter at Sauraha from as far as Siberia and thousands of miles away from other locations.

It is better to use bird watching guide as the opportunity to see different bird species increases if one takes advantage of experienced guides.
