In Hinduism and Jain religion, a day is devoted to the worship of Lord Vishnu which takes place on the 11th day of Krishna Paksha on the month of Magh in the Hindu calendar. On this day, the devotee follows the rituals of fasting and makes donations, offers food and other essentials to the needy people. One of the most important rituals of the day is to make the maximum use of sesame seeds (til) in diverse ways such as bathing, consuming, donating, and so on.
